Tulasipur : Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Barsha Man Pun, has said electricity would be expanded to cover the entire country within the next three years.
Speaking in a face-to-face programme organised by Reporters Club Dang branch here today, he said works are being undertaken to materialize the slogan – 'Nepal's Water and People's Investment' – for the development of hydropower in the country.
"Works on producing hydroelectricity is going on at various places; the government is working to supply electricity to fulfill the demand of the people in the coming five years," he said.
The Minister for Energy also shared on the occasion that talks were going on with the Tulasipur Sub-Metropolitan City regarding partnership in the extension of electricity.
He said the government would now work to connect electricity to all the 22 transit points in Dang district.On the question of the appropriate place for the capital of Province-5, he said, "People of Banke and Bardiya districts have also raised this issue and the Province Assembly will fix the state capital at a place that is appropriate in terms of accessibility to all the local levels."
