Rugby World Cup Trophy showcased at Tundikhel

Kathmandu : The 'Rugby World Cup Trophy' which has been brought to Nepal under the 'World Rugby Trophy Tour' was displayed today amidst a programme at the local Tundikhel. 

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun unveiled the trophy that was brought here on December 5 from the UK. 

The programme was organised by the Nepal Rugby Association. The Cup was taken to the Mount Everest base camp on December 6 and it was toured through the UNESCOworld heritage sites such as Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Patan Durbar Square the following day. 

The official Rugby games have been organised in Nepal since 2013, said Association president Tanka Lal Ghising. Nepal has been taking part in the Rugby sports at home and abroad since the establishment of Association on January 29, 1992. 

The Cup was brought here as an effort to broaden the Nepal's identity at international level and promote the domestic tourism.
