Ghorahi : Province- 5 Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel has said there is a need for debate on the death rituals as well lately.
He said the 13-day customary rituals associated with the death of a person that must be observed are being considered harsh in the present time and people are finding it hard to abandon them as they are old customs; so, the need for a debate on making the rituals in tune with the time.
The Chief Minister suggested reforms in these rituals considering the modern and busy life.
He was speaking in the condolence programme organized today at the house of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City mayor Narulal Chaudhary to pay tributes to Chaudhary’s mother Bhubiya Chaudhary who passed away 12 days back. The programme was organized by the Nepal Communist Party.
Chief Minister Pokhrel stressed on focusing on social reforms through people’s support.
