Politicos need consultation with intellects for reforms in education: Ex-President Dr Yadav

Kathmandu : Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has suggested the political leaders that they consulted the intellectuals to cater timely education to the people. Even the reform in education is equally important, he asserted. 

"Nepal is in need of globally competitive education," the former President said during a programme organized to mark the 39th anniversary of the Kanya Multiple Campus at Dillibazar today. 

He further said many countries were developed because of the education, so Nepal's education must be made competitive. "What has the teacher made out of students – robot or human," he wondered, underscoring that the education must make aware students on country's geography and social diversity. 

Unity among the Madhes and hill leads to country's development, the former President argued. 

Dr Yadav, who was the Nepali Congress leader before becoming President, said it was worrying that even the democratic party Nepali Congress involved in buying lawmakers. 

Provincial assembly member from Province 3, Dipendra Shrestha pointed out the need of improving education in community schools. 

Campus management committee chairman and former minister Homnath Dahal said the government should extend special assistance to the community schools. 
The Kanya Multiple College was set up in 2037BS to ensure women's access to education. 

There are various faculties providing education upto master's level programme. 

Students and teachers coming up with best performance were honoured on the occasion.
