Government directed to respond to NC concern

Kathmandu : National Assembly (NA) chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has directed the government to respond to concerns raised regarding the operation issue of two hospitals named after the late Girija Prasad Koirala and Sushil Koirala by the Nepali Congress. The government has been directed to reply the concerns in an upcoming meeting of the Upper House. 

The NA chair’s directive came in the second meeting of NA today. The NC has been lately obstructing the NA session, expressing its concern over no-decision of the government regarding the operations of the hospitals. The today’s NA session also endorsed a proposal tabled seeking the consideration over the ‘National Medical Education Bill-2075 BS’. 

Talking to media following the meeting, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel said the bill was brought on the basis of a consensus.

NC lawmaker Surendra Pandey accused the government of taking the issues that party raised in the House lightly.
