NRNA role sought to promote Nepali literature at international-level

Kathmandu,13 Oct : The role of Nepali Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has been stressed to promote the Nepali language and literature at the international-level.Taking part in an interaction programme on the current situation of Nepali diasporic poetry jointly organised by Nepal Academy and NRNA here today, the speakers sought the NRNA active participation to flourish the Nepali language and literature globally.Academy former chancellor Bairagi Kainla termed the understanding for collaboration between the NRNA and Academy the starting of a good work. “The Academy has played the important role in the development and promotion of diasporic literature by publishing works of Nepali writers outside the country.”NRNA ex-president Upendra Mahato said in his views, Nepali language, literature, religion and culture was the best in the world and underlined the need of spreading it to the worldwide. As he stated, the economic factor had a key role in the development of language, art and culture.Another NRNA former President Jeeba Lamichhane shared with the programme that promoting Nepali language, religion and culture in the international arena was one of the objectives of the establishment of Association. He said the NRNA had signed an understanding with the Academy for combined efforts to boost up the Nepali literature during his leadership.Academy chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti pledged to move ahead in collaboration with various literary organisations to enrich the Nepali language and literature. (RSS)
