Kathmandu, 7 April : The first New Bus Park street festival is being held to mark the New Year 2075.
The street festival will be held on New Years’ eve on Chitra 30 and on Baisakh 1, the first day of the New Year 2075 in the Lunar calendar, according to the festival coordinator Bishnu Pokharel. The festival is being organised jointly by 17 organisations including Kathmandu metropolis-26, Tokha municipality-9 and Mitranagar Development and Reforms Committee.
The festival also aims at changing the attitude towards New Bus park, which was dismantled in the 2015 earthquake. “We want to spread the message that the reconstruction has taken place and it is now a good place from touristic purpose,” Pokharel said.
Stalls will be put up on the streets including of food and various other goods, while a cultural programme will be held in the presence of popular artists.
