Rautahat, 20 March: The police today seized a woman’s corpse from the funeral pyre in Katahariya Municipality-5 in the district, and arrested four attending her funeral.The deceased identified as local resident Raj Kumari Devi, 35, might have been beaten to death by her husband Bijaya Sah Sonar, and the police intervened for investigations, said Superintendent of Police Yagya Binod Pokharel. A team from the Area Police Office, Katahariya acted on a tip off and intervened. Sonar is on the run.A family dispute led to Devi’s death, said police initial investigations.The arrestees in connection with the incident include two relatives of the deceased from her mother’s side, and Sonar’s two brothers (Bhantu Sah, Ram Balak Sah, Raj Kishwor Sah and Suresh Sah), who had taken Devi’s body to a local river to criminate. The police also confiscated two liters petrol to be used for cremating Devi’s body and five kilograms sugar.The cremation process acted on the order of the murder accused Sonar, said the locals.
