Left alliance and Forum inch closer to consensus

Kathmandu, 1 March : The Left Alliance and the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal are near to a consensus on matters relating to the latter’s joining of the government and subsequently amending the constitution.

Informing about the meeting between the two sides underway at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, FSF Nepal leader Rajendra Shrestha said the discussion was still going on and that the informal agreement reached here will be endorsed first within the respective parties. “The three sides will meet again to make a formal agreement after the official endorsement by the respective party’, he said.

Matters relating to addressing the demands raised during the Madhesh movement, amendment to the constitution and political collaboration were discussed during the meeting.

Prime Minister and UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, CPN-MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Vice-chair Narayan Kaji Shrestha, senior leader Ram Bahadur Thapa, UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel, Secretary Pradip Kumar Gyawali and Forum Chair Upendra Yadav, and leaders Rajendra Shrestha and Ram Shah Yadav were present in the meeting.
