The ‘Chief Minister Rural Development Programme’ has been implemented in all backward rural municipalities of the district.
Among ten local levels, seven are rural municipalities where the programme is launched. Currently, Shantinagar, Dangisharan, Rapti and Gadhwa rural municipalities have been running the programme, while it was implemented in Babai, Banglachuli and Rajpur rural municipalities last year, according State Assembly member Rewati Raman Sharma.
Every rural municipality has got Rs 5.2 million for the development that focuses the upliftment of Dalit, women, minorities and backward communities. “Even the smart village project will be launched this year,” added State Assembly member Sharma.
According to him, the village deprived of electricity would be provided solar energy on 90 percent grants. The State government provides grants for it. Similarly, it is planned to ensure pure drinking water to every household within three years.
Quality education, health, income generating skills are other priorities for the communities that are backward in economic and social indicators.
