Kathmandu, 25 Dec. Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has paid tributes to former regional committee President of the NC, late Shumsher Bahadur Rai.
Rai who was suffering from heart and kidney diseases for the past two years died on Sunday night in course of treatment at Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.
NC President and PM Deuba went to the Teaching Hospital today and extended condolences to the late Rai, draping his body with the party flag. PM Deuba also expressed sorrow over the passing away of Rai saying his demise has caused a big loss to the NC. He is the father of former lawmaker from Sankhuwasabha, Tanka Prasad Rai.
Rai was admitted to Teaching hospital for the past two weeks. Recalling significant contribution of Rai to the democratic movement of Nepal, PM Deuba wished for eternal peace of the departed soul and extended condolence to the members of the bereaved family.
