President congratulates government, parties on completion of elections

Kathmandu, 20 Dec. President Bidya Devi Bhandari has congratulated the government, political parties and constitutional bodies on the completion of the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies remaining as the milestone in regard with the enforcement of the constitution of the federal democratic republic of Nepal.

During her meeting with the top leadership of the two political parties in the left alliance–CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre)–held at the Office of President Shital Niwas today, the President expressed the hope that the elections would further contribute to the institutional development of federal democratic republic.On the occasion, the Head-of-the-State said she was hopeful that political parties would work with consensus, for socio-economic progress of the people, as told by President’s Chief personal secretary Bheshraj Adhikari.

“Political parties have better understood about democratic norms, values and traditions and the economic prosperity will be achieved in the nation on the basis of consensus, cooperation and unity,” the President said.CPN (UML) chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former speaker and leader Subash Nembang and CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha visited the Shital Niwas to call on the President.On the occasion, matters relating to act required for the National Assembly election were also discussed.CPN (MC) leader Shrestha said the President congratulated to the government, political parties and constitutional bodies on the conclusion of the House of Representatives and State Assemblies elections. The President expressed the hope that political parties would move ahead on the basis of consensus, cooperation and unity.
